Varietal Roles on Morpho-physiological and Yield Attributes of Lentil (Lens culinaris Medik)

Background: Lentil is the top cultivated pulse crop in Bangladesh. Even if there are a number of modern high yielding varieties (HYV) with all natural favorable conditions and resources for cultivation but due to lack available stress climate (biotic abiotic) resilient variety; potential yield this rarely met. Against huge sum demand supply deficit country which met by importing. Reflecting situation, present investigation attained test morpho-physiological related attributes seven HYV lentil depict most suitable variety terms growth, maturity. Methods: Binamasur-5, Binamasur-8, Binamasur-9, Binamasur-10, BARI Masur-5, Masur-6 Masur-8 was laid randomized complete block design during rabi (winter) season 2019 at BINA sub-station farm, Magura. Result: Findings divulged that, Binamasur-10 had seed (2.08 t/ha), harvest index (HI) (25.15%) medium duration maturity (108.94 days). Masur-5 produced maximum stover (7.86 t/ha) delayed (114 days) least (1.75 among evaluated varieties. Correlation study exposed positive significant relationship plant height (0.78*), primary secondary branches (0.76* 0.75*), total dry mass (0.87**) HI (0.85**). However, might be more than other field it’s notable performance.
